Next-generation, liquid nitrogen-cooled, controllerless camera for imaging & spectroscopy.

The PyLoN® line of controllerless, cryogenically cooled CCD cameras deliver the best performance from scientific CCDs for quantitative imaging and spectroscopy applications.

In creating the PyLoN platform, Princeton Instruments redesigned its industry-leading VersArray family of cameras to remove the external controller, increasing experimental flexibility, making it four times faster, while further improving the ultra-low-noise electronics. Liquid nitrogen cooling virtually eliminates dark current, and indium metal seals enhance vacuum longevity. Binning noise has been further reduced from the already low levels in the VersArray platform.


New! PyLoN 1300 and 2048
PyLoN 1300 and 2048 imaging cameras features ADC rates from 50 KHz to 4 MHz, with digital bias stabilization and correlated double sampling for decreased read noise and improved linearity. Additionally, Princeton Instruments' exclusive eXcelon® technology delivers the highest responsivity from the UV to the NIR while suppressing etaloning that occurs in standard back-illuminated CCDs.
